Funding Opportunities for Research in Anthropology at SOAS, 2012-13
The Department of Anthropology and Sociology at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies) University of London, founded in1948, is part of the largest concentration of Africa and Asia scholars in the United Kingdom. Our students benefit from:

Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Studentships 2012-13. SOAS Anthropology will be offering two ESRC Studentships in 2012-13.

Candidates for the ESRC Studentship award must apply both for the award(s) and for admission to one of the MARes programmes or to the MPhil/PhD programme. Applications for admission to the programme must preferably be received by 27 January 2012, but not later than the scholarship application deadline of 5:00pm on 27 February 2012. Offers of admission are based on your qualifications, the strength of your statement and the research proposal.

Two SOAS Research Studentships for a research degree in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at SOAS in the academic session 2012/13, providing remission of tuition fees at the UK/EU rate and a maintenance allowance of £12,470 (2011/12 rate).

Four SOAS Doctoral Scholarships (open to UK/EU applicants) will be available for students proposing to register full- or part time for a research degree in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at SOAS in the academic session 2012/13. This scholarship will provide remission of the tuition fees only.
