This bimonthly periodical is aimed at public and topical issues and at bringing anthropology to a wider public. Vacancies, fellowships, scholarships, prizes, courses and events are specialties. Electronic copy is posted on the Wiley-Blackwells website by the first of the edition month. Printed copies are posted from the printers in Singapore worldwide, arriving at postal addresses worldwide during the first two weeks of edition date.

Anthropology Today (AT) reaches over 10,000 institutions plus the RAI fellow/membership of approximately 3,000 individuals.

Note: deadlines mentioned in adverts should not give a date earlier than the end of month of issue (even-numbered month) to allow for international mailing delay.

Description

AT is an A4 journal with a text area of 187 mm wide by 273 mm deep printed in full colour since February 2008.

Technical specifications

Adverts may be submitted in PDF, TIFF or EPS format, with all text turned into outlines/ curves. PDF & EPS are accepted only with embedded fonts.

If you cannot send the advert to the specifications*, please ask for layout charges and we will prepare it for you. In that case:

- Please provide text as plain text like in a Word document

- Graphics, such as logos, should be submitted as separate images and not embedded in a document such as Word or PDF. They should be either a high quality JPEG or TIF/TIFF or EPS. Not a low quality JPEG saved as TIF.

Web adverts should be provided as plain text with the logo as an image NOT EMBEDDED in a document (like Word or PDF).

* Black text should be supplied as black only (no blacks composed of CMYK colours which generate shadows and oversaturate). We can only print with inking set at a maximum of 280%; meaning the total CMYK percentages should be below 280% (for example, C100 M100 Y100 K100 would be 400%, so much ink that it would rip holes in the paper at press).

In Photoshop you may want to work in CMYK as RGB shows the colours brighter. We print in CMYK. To provide your work in RGB (like when giving a PDF file) is no problem.

Graphics (including PDFs) should be 300dpi/ppi to size of reproduction. Lower resolution decreases the quality of your advert, higher will not improve reproduction of the image.

If you want to see your advert to the edge of the page, there should be an extra 3mm for the bleeding areas. Text should be at least 7mm (3mm+4mm) from the bleeding edge.

It is best to pre-flight your PDF advert. For that you need "Acrobat Professional"

Prices above include placing your vacancy adverts on the web at the time of publication. Bank charges on the transfer of money to the Institute must be borne by the remitter. We accept payment in British pounds sterling, US dollars, or Euros: If you want to pay in US Dollar from a US Dollar bank and in Euros from a Euro account see tables below for rates of conversion.

Web-only adverts

If possible please do provide a logo or image with your web advert. The size may be up to 800 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. You can provide a jpeg, gif or png. The advert will be removed the day after the deadline unless you specify otherwise.

VAT (Value Added Tax)
VAT is chargeable on all orders from UK advertisers. European Community advertisers are charged VAT unless they give their EC VAT registration number on the order form. Which countries are in the European Community? No VAT is charged on overseas orders from non-European Community countries.

Please do not forget to provide with your advert:
(1) The full postal, contact name and email address of whom the invoice should go to.
(2) The person to contact should there be a problem with the advert
We will send the invoice and the published advert by email as Acrobat PDF unless you instruct us otherwise.
(3) The price you expect to be charged following the rates above for your advert and mail.
