 Reproductive Realities in South Asia:
Ethnographies from Bangladesh and India

Book 1- Fertility, Health and Reproductive Politics: Re-imagining Rights in India (Maya Unnithan)

Book 2- Childlessness in Bangladesh: Intersectionality, Suffering and Resilience (Papreen Nahar)

The authors will be joined by discussant Anindita Majumdar (Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad)

Join us for an engaging session as we delve into the complex reality of reproductive politics in two South Asian countries, Bangladesh and India. Through the lens of ethnographic research, we will explore Professor Maya Unnithan's innovative work, "Fertility, Health and Reproductive Politics: Re-imagining Rights in India," in which she examines the institutional exercise of power by the state, caste and kin groups in Northern India, Complementing this perspective, Dr. Papreen Nahar's book examines the multidimensional narratives of childless women across rural poverty and urban middle-class contexts in Bangladesh, shedding light on the complex interplay of intersectionality and lived experiences.

Join the discussion to gain fresh insights into these captivating studies.
