Dr. Les Joynes is Fellow at the Research Centre for Transnational Art, Identity and Nation (TrAIN), The University of the Arts London (UAL and is visiting faculty at Renmin University of China, Beijing on their International Summer Program. He is a co-editor for ProjectAnywhere, University of Newcastle, Australia, a peer-reviewed journal that explores artistic explorations of site and environment and is founder of FormLAB an arts research series that creates experimental laboratories in museums worldwide. He has a B.A. cum laude and M.Sc. from Boston University; MBA from California State University; M.A. Fine Art, from Goldsmiths; MA from Musashino Art University, Tokyo; and PhD in Fine Art from Leeds Metropolitan University. He was Visiting Scholar in Art and Philosophy at Columbia University, New York and Postdoctoral Scholar at Escola de Comunicações e Artes, Universidade de São Paulo. He has been awarded the Japan Ministry of Education and Culture Scholarship (1997-2001), US Department of State and CEC-ArtsLink grants for research in Mongolia (2014) and a Fulbright-Hays Grant for exhibition in China (2017).
