John Burton was the founder and CEO of the World Land Trust until 2018, an international  wildlife conservation that supports local NGOs in acquiring land for conservation. He has extensive experience of working with indigenous and other  local communities, particularly in Argentina and Paraguay and the southern Caucasus. He holds an Honorary Doctorate awarded by Universities of Essex and East Anglia, for his contributions to wildlife conservation, and is a visiting Fellow in the Department of International Development at University of East Anglia. In 2019 he was awarded the Linnean Society’s John Spedan Lewis Medal, for innovation in conservation. Biography and website:
