John Burton is the founder and CEO of the World Land Trust, an international  wildlife conservation that supports local NGO in acquiring land for conservation. He has extensive experience of working with indigenous and other  local communities, particularly in Argentina and Paraguay. The WLT is also one of the most experienced NGOs working with REDD+ Projects.He holds an Honorary Doctorate awarded by Universities of Essex and East Anglia, for his contributions to wildlife conservation, and is a visiting Fellow at University of East Anglia.
