Statement of interest: I am a social anthropology PhD candidate at the SNOiE. My project explores the emerging relationship of humans with snow leopards. The project brings Anthropocene to provide an enabling lens to make sense of the pronounced impact of anthropogenic climate change in Ladakh, a trans-Himalayan ecosystem. In this context, this project explores the changing aspects of multispecies cohabitation in Ladakh. In particular, this project traces: How snow leopards have come to generate immense affective responses from humans. To explore these questions, which are related to the emerging debates in environment anthropology, I seek to be on the list of anthropologists who are interested in environmental issues.
