We regret that Miss Blackwood died on 29 November, at the age of 86. She was a past vice-president of the RAI and winner of the Rivers Memorial Medal for ethnographic research in Melanesia. She tirelessly served the Pitt Rivers Museum in Oxford right up till her death. The best known of her publications is Both Sides of Buka Passage (1935).
