Announcement: Schedule for Applications for Professional Certification in Forensic Anthropology

Applications are invited for those seeking certification at FAI, FAII and FAIII level.  The application process is detailed in the Application and Examination Procedures for Certified Forensic Anthropologist Level I, II and III, version 2.1 which can be found on the RAI website.

The timeline for the current application round is as follows:

Forensic Anthropologist I (FAI)

Submission of application forms and all associated documentation should be made by 31st January 2019

A date for the submission of three anonymised case reports will be individually communicated to the individual candidates following the submission of their application.

April 2019 – (exact date to be confirmed) – Viva Voce oral examination as specified in the procedures.

Forensic Anthropologist II (FAII)

Submission of application forms and all associated documentation should be made by 31st January 2019

In the new examination format candidates have a choice of two pathways:

i.    For candidates submitting to the curriculum mapping exercise or a portfolio of casework: 31st March 2019 – Closing date for submission of documentation

ii.    For candidates undertaking the written examination on the RAI forensic anthropology curriculum: June 2019 – Written examination

All candidates will take a practical examination, to be held on the same day and in the same place as the written examination (June 2019). The exact date in June will be confirmed by 31st March 2019, as this will be determined by a search to find the most convenient date for the candidates and examiners.  The examinations will be held in London unless all candidates come from another region.

Forensic Anthropologist III (FAIII)

Applications, with supporting portfolio, will be accepted at any time.
