AGREEMENT
WITH THE ROYAL ANTHROPOLOGICAL INSTITUTE
The
Fund awards grants to the Royal Anthropological Institute
of Great Britain and Ireland to support their Fellowships
in Urgent Anthropology.
An
inaugural five-year program of Fellowships was set up by
the RAI in association with Goldsmiths' College, part of the
University of London. From 2001-2007 the programme has been hosted by the University of Durham. Fellowships are for a minimum of one year and a maximum of
two years.
The
selection of RAI Fellows is made by a panel composed of
representatives from both the RAI and host institution. Academic
oversight of the projects is provided by the host institution. Fellowships
are awarded without discrimination of ethnic or national
origin, or residence, etc.
The
RAI Committee on Urgent Anthropology consists of Dr. Eric Hirsch (Hon. Secretary,
RAI, Chair), Professor Robert Layton, Dr Paul Sant-Cassia, Professor Richard Tapper, Professor Stephen Nugent, Professor Olivia Harris, Professor Veronica Strang, RAI Director.
All
monies contributed to the Fund are spent on research with
the Fund and the Royal Anthropological Institute making no
charge for administrative services.
